Abstract

Manihot esculenta Crantz cassava is a plant food resource that ranks fourth in importance as a source of energy produced in the world, after rice, corn and sugarcane, with high production of storage roots, as a source of carbohydrates and foliage for the production of flours with a high percentage of protein.
