Production of the Californian Red Worm at the INIA Alto Apure
Abstract
Vermiculture, or intensive breeding of domesticated worms, is an activity that is developed in almost the entire world. The Americans were the first to exploit them and directed their work to obtain bait for fishing. The Europeans, on the other hand, took advantage of the manure and organic matter waste to obtain worm meat and humus; the Arabs used them for soil recovery.
