Artisanal production of native potato seeds in the state of Mérida, Venezuela
Abstract
In the state of Mérida Venezuela, native potato varieties have been found used locally by producers for more than 30 years. They are mainly grown between 2,500 and 4,000 meters above sea level, and are characterized by predominantly purple tubers. , compressed form, purple flower in most of them, with excellent organoleptic properties such as flavor and texture as well as important contents of natural antioxidant substances.
