Evaluation of cultivars of the bean category in Agronomic Validation Trials. Vegas areas of the Apure river
Abstract
The cultivation of beans, Phaseolus vulgaris L., has been for many centuries an item planted in different areas with different particularities of soil, climate and rainfall very typical of each region, managing to adapt satisfactorily, allowing its use in the diet of the inhabitants of the same. This crop stands out in the daily diet for its contribution of proteins (23%) essential for the development and growth of the human being. Hence, the need that the inhabitants have had to cultivate this species of legume that in Venezuela is produced in almost all the states, with the largest proportion being subsistence crops called "conuco" characterized by small surfaces and with little use of agrochemicals.
