Plant tissue culture comprises a set of techniques widely used for in vitro plant propagation; however, a disadvantage is the high cost of components used for the culture medium, among these, the agar of said media has presented enormous overexploitation as a consequence of its high demand, which is why its price has risen, Sánchez Cardozo et al. (2019).
2025-09-10T11:59:22-04:00Copyright (c) 2025 INIA Divulgahttp://www.publicaciones.inia.gob.ve/index.php/iniadivulga/article/view/1063Making Bocashi from organic waste as an alternative to sustainable agriculture2025-09-10T15:34:35-04:00Karla Nuñez Castellanokcastellano.inia.zulia@gmail.comAna María Chacónachacon@inia.gob.veJosé Colmenaresjcolmenares@inia.gob.veCarolina Polancocpolanco@inia.gob.veThaira Navarrotnavarro@inia.gob.ve
Intensive use of natural resources has produced negative impacts on the environment and affected the sustainability of production systems. Trends in healthy food consumption necessitate the search for clean and sustainable production systems, such as organic sources. The global trend in managing these systems demands basic knowledge of resources, such as the management of organic fertilizers applied to the soil.
2025-09-10T14:11:37-04:00Copyright (c) 2025 INIA Divulgahttp://www.publicaciones.inia.gob.ve/index.php/iniadivulga/article/view/1064Measuring the agroecological status of musas through a rapid methodology to assess sustainability2025-09-10T15:34:45-04:00José Castillo S. castilloalex0807@gmail.comDoris Blancodblanco@gmail.comMelvin Said O.msaid@inia.gob.veStarling Rodríguez R.srodriguez@inia.gob.veEdward Manzanillaemanzanilla@inia.gob.veJairo Loaizajloaiza@inia.gob.ve
Conventional agriculture has contributed enormously to soil deterioration, increased environmental pollution, and harm to human health, due to its general dependence on foreign inputs from other technological packages. This mode of production is based on monoculture, intensive mechanization, and the application of agrochemicals, as well as the use of genetically modified organisms, which has resulted in the emergence of new, more resistant pests and the loss of biodiversity and agri-food sovereignty. A counterpoint to this mode of production is agroecology, based on organic management that minimizes environmental and soil damage and emphasizes human health.
2025-09-10T14:32:55-04:00Copyright (c) 2025 INIA Divulgahttp://www.publicaciones.inia.gob.ve/index.php/iniadivulga/article/view/1065Analysis of Environmental and Sociocultural Impact Studies (ESIASC)2025-09-10T15:34:56-04:00Teomary Pérezteomaryan@gmail.com
Intense population and industrial growth, the lack of planning and management strategies, as well as the lack of understanding of the ecological and socioeconomic value of ecosystems, have led to serious problems of pollution and environmental impact, and the loss of valuable natural and economic resources worldwide.

Therefore, the ecological problem and the environmental crisis arise from the fact that human beings can actively intervene in the environment to satisfy their needs and, through this, are causing great damage to the environment and all living beings that depend on it.
2025-09-10T14:52:22-04:00Copyright (c) 2025 INIA Divulgahttp://www.publicaciones.inia.gob.ve/index.php/iniadivulga/article/view/1066Experience of yancín cultivation in Bolívar state, Venezuela2025-09-10T15:35:02-04:00Ernesto Martíneziniabolivar@gmail.comArístides Rodrígezarodriguez@inia.gob.veYanira Ramosyramos@inia.gob.veAndrés Gilagil@inia.gob.ve
Due to adverse rainfall, dependence on agrochemicals, mechanization of agricultural work, hoarding of finished products, and price speculation, the demand for alternative agricultural products such as musaceae (plantain, topocho, and banana), as well as cassava, yam, and yancín (roots and tubers) has increased. This contrasts with traditional cereals such as wheat, corn, and rice, and offers an opportunity to diversify the Venezuelan diet by incorporating different types of carbohydrates instead of just conventional ones.
2025-09-10T15:09:28-04:00Copyright (c) 2025 INIA Divulga
